Melissa Heavirland, PA-C, grew up in Southern California, where she developed a strong appreciation for community, wellness, and the outdoors. Her passion for helping others began early through her first job as an ocean lifeguard, where she learned the importance of vigilance, teamwork, and calm decision-making in high-pressure situations. This formative experience sparked her interest in medicine and set the foundation for a career focused on caring for others.

Melissa earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University Glendale, where she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive medical care and women’s health. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University, reflecting her strong academic commitment and passion for the sciences.

Prior to joining the women’s health field, Melissa gained valuable clinical experience in urgent care, where she honed her skills in acute evaluation, diagnostics, and collaborative care across a diverse patient population. This background allows her to provide thoughtful, efficient care in both routine and complex clinical situations.

Outside of the clinic, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son. As a family, they love exploring the beach, staying active outdoors, and discovering the best local restaurants throughout Orange County. She values maintaining a healthy work–life balance and believes that time spent with family enhances the compassion and perspective she brings to patient care.
